María Laura and Antonio contacted us to renovate the new apartment they had just purchased on one of the main avenues in Pozuelo de Alarcón.

The apartment had a traditional layout, which our clients were keen to move away from. We transformed the original kitchen into a bedroom-home office, joined the former living room with the adjoining room, and removed the existing corridor to create a new open space comprising the new kitchen and living area. Part of the entrance hall was used to create a full bathroom, while the main bedroom and the former en-suite bathroom were merged to form an original suite that includes the principal bedroom, a dressing area, two independent washbasins, a toilet and a spacious shower with dual fittings.

All the interior carpentry — wardrobes, doors and kitchen furniture — as well as the exterior carpentry — windows — was finished in white. The windows are tilt-opening, which allows for large panes of glass without placing excessive strain on the fittings, and they have no shutters. Instead, the clients use blinds to darken the rooms.

The kitchen island incorporates the latest invisible induction technology, making the worktop and cooking area visually indistinguishable and allowing the entire island to be used as a large dining table. The extractor hood is integrated into the ceiling, adding both elegance and discretion.

For the finishes, our clients chose warm, neutral tones. We achieved this by leaving the walls with an exposed plaster finish and applying a special microcement to the showers, both on the trays and the walls. The flooring throughout the apartment is a ceramic tile in a tone that works in harmony with the walls.
