NEW LIFE IN PUENTE DE VALLECAS

A renewed sense of quality and style in Isabel’s apartment

A renewed sense of quality and style in Isabel’s apartment

After living in Berlin for several years, our client Isabel decided to return to Madrid and purchase an apartment to renovate. The property measures approximately 70 m² and is located in Puente de Vallecas, very close to the M-30.

The original layout of two bedrooms and two bathrooms was maintained, but the partition separating the kitchen, living room and hallway was demolished in order to create a brighter, more spacious day area.

The old windows were replaced with more energy-efficient aluminium ones, and the heating system was fully renewed, as the previous installation — probably added after the building was originally constructed — had exposed pipes running throughout the apartment.

After an extensive search, the flooring chosen was a beige oak wood floor by the German brand Tur Hürne, with an appearance very close to natural wood, just as our client wanted.

The original wooden interior carpentry was preserved and given a new life by painting it in a light colour, bringing additional brightness to the apartment.

The heart of the project is the forest green kitchen with bronze handles and a comfortable island with storage. This allowed us to avoid upper cabinets, keeping the open-plan space lighter, clearer and more spacious.
